Jon Dahl and I (Luke Francl) are pleased to report that our respective contributions to Advanced Rails Recipes are now available.
- Jon wrote “Processing an Asynchronous Workflow” with instructions on how to off-load long running tasks to a daemon process.
- Luke wrote “Receiving E-mail Reliably via POP or IMAP” which explains how to use a POP or IMAP server with Rails for incoming e-mail. (Read about the challenges of writing a technical article while in a foreign country without your laptop.)
But the book is crock-full of other great recipes (honestly; we’re not getting paid for this!). I’m really excited to read through them all.
